Artists Biography

      Tristen Cara was born in New York, in the year 1997. She is currently a senior at Herricks High school and is an art and theater student. Tristen Grew up with her mother who was an artist and a grandmother who loved to act. Her life growing up was tough, she had to go through things many adults many never even have to encounter. But she never gave up. In fact all of the experiences Tristen has gained from overcoming everything that she has inspired her to keep on working. She takes all the emotions that she feels and past experiences and puts them into her work and uses them to inspire herself to keep going.  
      Tristen's art is very unique. She does not fall under one category with it, She is a mix of realistic art and abstract art. When asked Tristen says that she paints and draws the world as she sees it or how she wants it to be. Her art inspirations are Marc Chagall, Edgar Degas and Salvador Dali. Tristen has been in the Herricks School art show twice (2012 and 2013). She was also student of the month during her sophomore year of high school(2013) and is currently in the STAC program at her school. 
     Tristen has loved acting and performing ever since she was a little girl. When she was little Tristen was always entertaining people in one way or another weather it was dancing and acting on stage or putting on little shows for her family with her twin sister. Tristen's theater and acting inspirations are Sutton Foster, Helena Bonham Carter and Johnny Depp. 
Outside of school Tristen does photography and dances, she does ballet and jazz dance. After Graduating this year Tristen is hoping to go to college and major in culinary arts.
